There are presently no open calls for submissions.
Submissions for the Palo Verde Pages (PVP) are currently open. The deadline is September 17th, 2012. We are seeking fiction, poetry, and literary non-fiction that is original, thought-provoking, and creative. General submissions will be considered for publication. One author within each issue will receive the $100 Editor’s Choice award. Additional awards may be added.
The submissions fee is $10 per piece. Writers whose work has been documented through PVP certified writing groups will not be required to pay the submissions fee. If your piece was reviewed in a PVP certified writing group please contact your group's moderator prior to submitting. Authors will be required to accept the terms and conditions as outlined on the submissions form.
The submissions criteria:

Word count: up to 5,000 words

One inch margins on all sides

Single spacing

12-point Times New Roman font (including titles)

Acceptable file types are .doc, .odt, or .rtf formats

No headers or footers

The author’s name MUST NOT appear anywhere on the submitted documents
Additionally, the PVP will retain works that are not selected for the current issue for future consideration for a period of up to six months. If your piece is selected for a future issue you will be contacted for consent prior to publishing.
The PVP reserves the right to reject any piece. This publication targets adult readers. Submitted works containing material which is political, religious, obscene, profane, or graphic in nature will be evaluated on the contribution and relevance of such content to the artistic merit of the piece.
The Palo Verde Pages, a publication of the Arizona Literary Guild, LLC. (ALG), seeks to offer its readers creative, relatable, and stimulating content to engage, entertain, and inspire. The publication provides authors a venue to showcase their best work, as well as encourages growth in their writing through the support of a network of peers in the PVP’s affiliated writing groups. The PVP fosters cultural development by collaborating with artisans of other disciplines to nurture the innovative environment of the community. The publication strives to be a sustainable and reliable resource for readers and authors alike.
Terms and Conditions
Submissions
Arizona Literary Guild, LLC. (hereafter referred to as ALG), is an Arizona limited liability company, in good standing. ALG reserves the right to print, accept, edit, and refuse all submissions based solely on the judgment and sole discretion of the ALG Editor or the ALG Board of Directors.
Submissions that do not follow printed guidelines for specific publications will not be returned nor will their accompanying submission fee. It is the responsibility of the submitter to follow written instructions as to the format and content of a submission.
ALG requires that an author substantiate in writing through a release form that they have all applicable copyright rights to material being submitted for publication. ALG requires only the right to print the submission in current and future ALG publications both in print and electronic format. The author retains all other rights, including future rights to television, movie or subsequent publications.
ALG offers readers and subscribers publications in both written and electronic formats. ALG does not require that submitted work have never been published before, only that the submitting author retains sufficient rights to offer the work to ALG for further publication.
ALG also abides by all laws and regulations at all levels of government including those concerning the content of materials. ALG may publish various publications intended for different audiences. Most ALG content will be targeted at an adult market of those over the age of 18. Some publications may have other requirements and those will be clearly listed. Language, violence and sexual activity that are true to the literary content of the work and are within guidelines will be accepted.
ALG retains the right to refuse work that is not considered literary in nature including but not limited to: pornographic materials, political campaign materials, racist materials, propaganda for any cause and other non-literary submissions. The determination is made solely at the discretion of the ALG Editor or the ALG Board of Directors.
